AGB Hungary was founded in 1992, as the market encountered increasing competition between television broadcasters and the belief that commercial television was soon to appear on the Hungarian market. These developments meant that broadcasting time was becoming more and more valuable not only to the TV companies, but also to the advertisers and advertising agencies. The need for this airtime to be sold on the basis of ratings, "the common currency" resulted in an official tender being called - which AGB Hungary won.
